What does "Bucherer" mean on this Royal Oak Offshore?
It's part of the Bucherer Blue Editions, a series of retailer-exclusive references made for the Swiss jeweler Bucherer with blue dials as the signature. AP produced this one in a run of 300 pieces, and it was never sold through AP boutiques or other dealers. That's why you rarely see one listed.
What movement is in the 26471SR?
Calibre 3126/3840. The 3126 is AP's automatic base with a 50-hour reserve, and the 3840 is a Dubois-Dépraz chronograph module fitted on top. It's the same combination AP used across the 42mm Offshore line for years. It's proven, serviceable, and the reason the case sits at a comfortable 14.4mm rather than taller.
How does the steel and pink gold combination hold up?
Better than a full gold Offshore. The bezel, crown guards, and lugs are 18k pink gold and will show fine marks from contact, but the steel case body takes the daily knocks. The black ceramic crown and pushers won't scratch at all. This example was fully serviced in August 2026.
