How often does the calendar on the Toledo 1952 need adjusting?
Five times a year. This is a complete calendar, not an annual or perpetual, so the date has to be advanced by hand at the end of every month shorter than 31 days. It's done with the recessed correctors on the case side, and takes under a minute each time.
How does a 35.7mm cushion case wear?
Bigger than the number suggests. The case measures 35.7mm across but 41mm lug to lug, and the cushion shape fills the wrist the way a 39mm round watch does. It sits well on wrists from 6.5 to 7.5 inches without looking undersized.
What is the history behind the Toledo 1952?
It's a Historiques collection reissue of Vacheron's reference 4737 from 1952, one of the few cushion-cased triple calendars the brand produced mid-century. The modern version launched in 2003 with Calibre 1125 and was discontinued, so the pre-owned market is the only place to find one.
